Greetings from Loves Gathering Farm!

We’ve been busy as bees on the farm this Spring! So much to plant, tend, process and preserve already and its only just begun! We are so grateful to be able to share with you what all we have growing on.

We’ve been rotating out our greenhouse plantings to make way for the warmer weather goodies- like tomatoes, peppers, etc- and had a bumper crop of the most enormous Bok Choy we’ve ever grown! It needed to be harvested and put to use, as it was beginning to flower. (Bok Choy, for those that aren’t familiar, is a juicy and crunchy asian green that is sooo good in stir fry and other dishes) With the surplus, I decided to throw it through the processor and make some Kimchi out of it. Even though traditional Kimchi is made with cabbage, we decided to give it a try with Bok Choy! It’s currently fermenting away on the counter and should be ready to eat in a few days. I also added grated carrot, green onions, and chile flakes (all from the garden). I’ll let you know how it tastes! (and if the kids think it’s a winner…or not!)
